Lisa Holmes – Exam Success
Lisa, who joined the firm in 2006 as a Trainee Legal Executive has just passed her Equity and Trust exam that she took in January. She got 60% and the highest mark was no more than 64%. Of the 44 who took the exam only 17 people passed. We all congratulator her on this impressive achievement.
Doreen Exton- Retires
After some 17 years with Kendall & Davies and a total of 50 years in the legal profession, Doreen has decided it is time for a well deserved rest. She brought a wealth of experience and local knowledge to the firm and took the time consuming task of preparing estate accounts in her stride.
We're sure her husband Basil will be happy to see more of her at home and we wish her a long and enjoyable retirement.
Derek Barkes
Derek Barkes, who comes from a long line of well known solicitors in Moreton in Marsh, has now decided that it is time for him to retire fully. He has been with us for nearly 14 years during which time his knowledge and experience have been invaluable.
As a widely respected member of the local community he will no doubt still be seen out and about and will hopefully be calling into the office from time to time.
His official retirement however is on 6th April 2011, any ongoing matters and indeed any new matters with which he would normally have dealt will be undertaken by Rowena Warrington at out Moreton-in-Marsh office, who is very ably assisted by Lisa Holmes and Hilary Green.
We all thank Derek for his many years with the firm and wish him and Elspeth the very best in his retirement.

We are pleased to welcome in our Burford Office Janice Kitchen, who had previously been at Darbys in Oxford for some 20 years, as a Legal Secretary.
